Lizzie

Born in Cape Town, Elizabeth, or Lizzie, as she is known by her friends, lost her Mother at an early age. Her Father re married within a year, but her stepmother kept her locked in her room most of the time and fed her on the scraps left over from the meals she fed her own children. Little Lizzie was not allowed to get any new clothes and had to make do with the hand me downs from her step sister. To pass the time she started singing the songs she could hear from the radio through the walls over and over again and worked hard at her schoolwork. Eventually she turned Sixteen and at the first opportunity she left home and ran away to Johannesburg to stay with an old friend of her mothers who was the caretaker of a Church there. Lizzie began to sing anywhere she could to earn a living, writing her own songs and dreaming of being an International Pop star. The road has been hard but Lizzie is determined to reach for the stars and save up enough money to go to the USA and make it big. Her favourite things are lace and short leather skirts.
